How Do You Stay Motivated?
One of the biggest obstacles to losing weight is the motivation aspect. Yes, initially everybody is motivated enough to start losing weight and doing the necessary fitness routines. But after a few days, things start to get a tad boring when you are not seeing results like you expected to. As days pass, you start to skip the exercises from 4 days a week to once a week to once a month and finally start wondering whether this is really working.
Well if you are exercising only once a week then it is not going to do much other than maybe maintain your current weight. So the biggest obstacle is actually the lack of motivation that you had initially when you started out to lose weight. Your motivation succumbs to doing the same boring repetitive routine over and over again. The question is "How can I stay motivated to exercise and lose weight?". It could be as simple as altering your fitness routines. The nice thing about altering your exercise routines is you are making your mind use the creative part of the brain and it brings out the freshness factor and keeps the body guessing. This helps to get the repetitive aspect out and keeps you motivated to continue exercising.

Here Are Some Tips To Help You Stay Motivated To Exercise
1. Change the environment. You could be used to doing the exercises in a particular room or area. On some days, exercise in a different part of the gym or your house. This can help significantly as the view that you get when exercising appears different and that can reduce the boredom.
2. If you are used to doing some cardio before the weights, Switch things around some days. Begin the weights with some light body stretching and do some cardio at the end of the routine.
3. If you are used to the treadmill, why not you use the rowing machine or the stepper instead. These can help tone up different muscles in your body which a treadmill cannot target.
4. You could also change the time you exercise. I know everyone has a busy schedule and it is with the greatest difficulty that we find the time to get a workout. but if it is at all possible you could try to exercise at a different time of the day than you are used to.
5. You could also change the speed of your exercises. For cardio, you could increase the speed and do a high intensity workout for a shorter period of time than usual. For weights, you could use less heavier weights and do the routines much faster with more reps than usual. This keeps your body and muscles from getting used to the same routines you do every time and your body can feel the difference too.
6. Another thing you could consider changing is the rest time you take between your exercises. You could reduce that time and get to the next exercise a little quicker. If you are exhausted and cannot work the same muscles so soon, try working a different part of the body. For instance if you just finished doing an upper body exercise, you could work the lower body parts like the thigh, calf muscles or even the abs.
7. Sometimes you might feel a particular exercise is very effective but it may not be suitable for your body due to some previous injury niggles you might be carrying. it is best to avoid those type of exercises no matter how effective they might be. Never do any exercises that can aggravate old injuries. Pursuing these unsuitable methods can prematurely bring your workout sessions to a complete stop .
